Q. How much does the program cost?                                                 A. Currently it costs Haven House $1,500.00 per month to maintain one resident. This covers all daily expenses such as, food, clothing, toiletries, transportation, professional off site counseling, and other daily living needs.

          *Haven House provides full and partial scholarships

on a funds available basis.*

 

Q. Is alcoholism and chemical dependency a disease?
A. We believe it is a spiritual disease that can only be relieved by God. We also believe that God has given us 12 step programs to guide us back to a spiritual life. The Haven House can only support it’s residents in this journey by providing for them a safe home, positive daily life examples, and sharing with them our experience, strength and hope.

                                                             Q. What is the Haven House?
A. HAVEN HOUSE is a group shared living residence. The organizations is a nonprofit, non-denominational Christian-based group, established to support men recovering from alcohol and chemical dependency in finding their way to a bright and fulfilling life through traditional values.
 

Q. How do your residents come to find out about Haven House?
A. Residents come to us though referral from friends, detoxification units, treatment centers, members of 12 step programs and other referral sources who are familiar with Haven House by personal or professional association.

Q. Do the residents of Haven House work?
A. Yes. Haven House is a working program the residents are required to hold a full time position. New residents are not immediately sent into the work force. Over a period of weeks, and in some cases months, new residents are evaluated and when we are satisfied that it is safe emotionally, physically and spiritually for them, they are allowed to seek employment.
 
Q. What do new residents who are not employed do?
A. New residents work on the property. They keep up the yard, maintain the building, clean the vehicles, repair equipment and the like until they are ready to take the next step.

Q. Do residents attend 12 step meetings or go to counseling? 
A. All residents attend 12 step meetings 6 nights a week and attend Bible study each Monday evening. Counseling with a State certified professional is provided off site for those who require counseling support. We believe strongly in the 12 step programs.

Q. Does Haven House receive Federal, State or County funds?
A. No. Haven House is does not receive nor seek any Federal, State or County funds.

Q. How is Haven House funded?
A. Haven House is funded through community contribution and support. We have been blessed with good friends who believe in and support our mission. Also, the residents, after they begin work, contribute to the monthly operation of the household.
